Eeeeeyuck, I felt like I was dragging my brain through mud as I studied businessfinance(!!) yesterday. Expiry date, expiry price, Sell a put, buy a call, sell a call, buy a put, exercise a put exercise a call, call a POOPPOOPPOOP! Exam’s in less than a week! Then there’s ATA almost straight after busfi to study for!! *panic dance* :S Now, you see why I had to take the focus off work&me and just refocus and praise Him. Hahaha.

Okk, back to studying! I really should use one of those holistic learning techniques I learn about in psych. Like, make a song instead of rote learning! But I know the song will have pooppooppoop in it so maybe not this bout of exams then. I don’t wanna burst out laughing in the exam hall.

 

p.s. I noticed my blog had ugly fonts on someone else’s computer. Well, too bad if you’re not a mac user… ‘Cause mac fonts are pretty. Heh (: I use ‘Zapfino‘ for song titles, if you were interested.

Comparing Godliness

Mmm… was reading SoloFeminity and the following analogy really hit home.

 

First of all, “godliest” is a bad label. It implies we determine our godliness by comparing ourselves to others. “She’s godlier than that other lady, so that makes her the godliest.” Wrong! Christ is our standard of perfection, and we all fall short of His glory. The best analogy I’ve heard is that it is like someone standing on a sheet of paper and claiming to be closer to the sun. When we try to use the label “godliest,” we are equally absurd.

Brandi Carlile

Not to sound obsessive or anything, but man, I adore Brandi Carlile’s voice. Ifonlyifonly I had the means to get to her gig on monday!! ): I would be heavily indebted to anyone who agrees to come with me (just so I don’t get lost or mugged on the way there)! 12th Nov anyone?

Edit: I could get my dad to drop me off.. but seriously, who ever gets dropped off to a gig by a parent?! Haha, it’d be so ‘Almost Famous’. Plus, dad would tell mum and she would probably blow a fuse and say “nowayareyougoingforaconcertinthemidstofyourexams. willtherebedrugswilltherebealcohol?! goingallbyyourself?!NOMEANSNOYOUSTAYATHOME!”

Scrap that. Dad’s leaving next week.
