blessed (:

May 31, 2008

I have waited all semester for an OCF session like tonight’s. Oh every moment was so delectable (((: I had one of those precious Wordwhisperedintheheart moments. And YAY i got to talk to A and M properly for, uh, the first time this sem. Also! I think mr DNT is a very engaging speaker although shhdon’ttell he scares the foshizzle out of me in person hahaha because he communicates the big picture thing so well. He put across what I’ve been thinking – or trying to think – about so eloquently. Yay for OCF people, yay for tonight. So grateful to be so blessed.

Ok, shifting into second gear tmr. Meh, subjects this sem have been a little hard to study for. Especially Psychological Disorders! I don’t learn well studying rote, but I feel as though I have to disconnect from and depersonalize all these theories on eating disorders, depression and PTSD, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, substance abuse and OCD; it’s hard to associate these disorders with people I know (which is how I normally study) because then it just gets too sad and I cry. Not really, but close. Haha, still wondering if going into the psych profession is the best idea. I think I should study with thelittleenginewhocould. The Milano gang agrees she has a ’study aura’ around her. HAHA (: It’s ok, I can do it.

Come on!

Nightminds

So after confessing my sin – gluttony – to G yesterday, I went to Mr. Tulk to have their baked eggs with chorizo and spinach for the very last time (this month). I promise! Haha, I’ve been back there three times this month after taking the girls there for brunch a coupla Saturdays ago. Oh their soups and poached and baked eggs are so scruuumpdelitious! Skinny capp was slightly disappointing though. The scruffy waiters are ok on the eyes too.

It feels like I’ve missed autumn altogether and slipped right into winter this year. Missy Higgins has come back onto the playlist. Hahaha, I remember wanting to be her/a beautiful singing brunette like her when I first heard her voice in Year 11. I think she’s quite a brilliant songwriter. Her lyrics don’t hold as much despair and lamentations about lost love & ‘the one that got away’s like other songwriters’.

So groooow tall, shuuuugarcane
Eat that soil drink that rain
But know they’ll chase you if you play their little game…
So run, run fast, shuuuuugarcane (:

But I will learn to breathe this ugliness you see,
So we can both be there and we can both share the dark.
And
in our honesty, together we will rise,
Out of our nightminds, and into the light
At the end of the fight…

You were blessed by a different kind of inner view: it’s all magnified.
The highs would make you fly, and the lows make you want to die.
And I was once there, hanging from that very ledge where you are standing.
So I know
I know
I know,
It’s easier to let go.

Maria Sue Chapman (2003-2008 )

Maria Sue Chapman, adopted and youngest daughter to Mary Beth and Steven Curtis Chapman, was killed Wednesday night in a tragic accident in the family driveway on Wednesday evening. She was LifeFlighted to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital but for only reasons God can explain she went home to Him… not to Franklin as we all so desperately wanted.

Your prayers are needed for all in the Chapman family. This is a family who has so generously loved and given to so many. Just hours before this close knit family was celebrating the engagement of the oldest daughter Emily Chapman, and were just hours away from a graduation party marking Caleb Chapman’s completion of high school. Now, they are preparing to bury a child who blew out 5 candles on a birthday cake less than 10 days ago. These words are unthinkable to type. And yet we trust in a God who was not surprised by this and because of Jesus I am certain through faith in Him we will see Maria again. – Jim Houser (Manager)

This is just too tragic. Please pray for the Chapman family.

When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in it takes you in for good
When love takes you in

Written by Chapman two years ago as a love song to his adopted children.

Iron Man and BGT

May 9, 2008

I’m sorry. This month of May(hem) has robbed me of any will, wish, want or inclination to blog.

Butbut let me make it up to you by sharing my favourite time-waster in between assignments! Heehee… Britain’s Got Talent! I’ve watched each video like thirty times.

Who doesn’t love a good Boyzone/RonanKeating impersonation? HAHA, Craig Harper’s my new hero! He’s hilarious… “Thirty plus VAT”!

Baton-twirling boy has got pizzazz. Love it! Plus, he used a ‘Queen’ soundtrack! Bonus points (:

And of course, the super sexy Scala. Omg they’re so hot (esp the cello cellist)!

And oh yes, Iron Man was good. GRIN.

(*ahem* Note to A: we were not swooning… we were calmly stating how cool Tony Starks and his perfect skin, sense of humour, length of hair, genius level of intellect, and gadgets were)

Ohmyword, the Audis and gadgets in that show. Be still my beating heart! I didn’t realise how much I was enjoying the movie till S told everyone that every time she looked over at me during the movie, I had a huge grin on my face. HAHA, S!!! Anyway, what were you looking at me for!

Reminiscent of Transformers, except with a plot. Not sure how it stacks up to the original comics though. Highly recommended.

Robert Downey Jr. > Patrick Dempsey.
